World Kindness Week is an annual, unofficial observance that encourages people to spread kindness and compassion in their communities. It is celebrated during the week that includes World Kindness Day, which is held annually on November 13th.
The event was initiated by the World Kindness Movement (WKM), a global coalition of kindness non-governmental organizations (NGOs), at a 1997 convention in Tokyo, and the first World Kindness Day was officially launched in 1998.

- Smile: A warm smile can be contagious and brighten someone's day.

- Make a bird feeder: This is a fun activity that also helps local wildlife.
- Write a letter to a family member: They could write to a grandparent or another relative who lives far away.
- Donate books to a library: If they've outgrown some of their books, this act of kindness can benefit other children in their community.
- Water plants for a neighbor: Especially if the neighbor is on vacation or finds it difficult to do so.
- Prepare a meal for the family: With adult supervision, kids can learn to cook and share a meal.
- Leave kind notes in library books: Future readers will get a pleasant surprise.
- Start a free little library: They can share books with neighbors and encourage others to do the same.
- Create a kindness jar: They can fill a jar with kind actions and each day pick one to do.
The ultimate goal is to inspire a "pay-it-forward" ripple effect, encouraging consistent kindness beyond just the designated week.
Do kids prefer the Treasure Tower over a treasure box?
Yes! There is something "magical" to children about the combination of getting a token that tells them they're a "Super Patient" or a "Super Student" or they've earned the "Treasure Tower Award" and getting to make their selection, insert the token, turn the handle, and have their dental toy reward fall down the chute. It's a great last experience for them to remember before going home and gives them something to look forward to when coming back!
